Whippets at Fox Run Farm

Sportingfields Color Me Shameless

CricketSire: GCH. CH. Harmony's Pablo Picasso JC
Dam: CH.  Sportingfield Little Black Dress

Whelped: January 5, 2014
Breeders: Dionne Butt & Amanda Giles & David Howton & Regina Howton

Cricket joined our family in April 2014.  Her mother is the famous Ch. Sportingfield Little Black Dress and her father is Grand Champion  Harmony's Pablo Picasso, JC.  Her pedigree is almost all champions and AKC Grand Champions in addition to many successful lure coursing dogs.  What is much more important is that this little whippet is kind, gentle and already an important member of our household.  She is learning to enjoy being my companion and hopefully my future carriage dog.  Yes, she will be shown and hopefully someday finished, but what is important is that she is enjoying just being our friend and companion.

Thank you Phyllis Ensley Photography for the photos of Cricket in her first show.

Haley's CometCh. Haley's Comet FCh., L.C.M

Sire: Sir Rodney
Dam: Colonial Acres Charm Again

Whelped: June 17, 1978

AKC Championship: February 6, 1983
Field Championship: October 29, 1983

Haley was my first whippet.  Although coming from humble bloodlines, she went on to achieve her championship in the show ring and her FCh. and L.C.M. on the coursing field. She was a lovely girl in every way and introduced me into the world of the sighthound.

Iniskhelltr Mistletoe (United Kingdom)

HollySire: Eng. Ch. Waycross Wishing Star
Dam: Iniskhelltr Ellouise

Whelped: November 1, 1979
Imported: January 1980
Breeder: Miss G.C. Ussher

We met Miss Ussher while in England. She was the current Secretary of the Whippet Club. We journeyed up Tinker' Hill and met all the lovely whippets of Iniskhelltr Kennels.

Miss Ussher allowed us to purchase a beautiful blue and white brindle whippet who we named Holly. Holly came home with us to enjoy many years of life at Fox Run Farm.

Ch. Oxbow Oreo of Lazebrook FCh., L.C.M

CookieSire: Ch. Cricket Hearth Bristol Cream
Dam: Dress Circle Tar Baby

Whelped: Sept. 1, 1980

Breeder: Lucie J. Bingler

Co-Owner: A. J. Gutilla

AKC Championship: November 15, 1981
Field Championship: October 29, 1983

I believe that at the time "Cookie" finished her A.K.C. Championship, she was only the 7th black whippet to ever accomplish this feat. She was owner-handled by Mr. A.J. Gutilla, who later allowed us to co-own her. We then found out that this little girl was an amazing courser, often taking Best In Field awards.

Together we bred 2 litters from her, producing several very nice whippets who were known in both the show ring and on the field.
In this photo you will see "Cookie" on the far right, her daughter, Lazebrook's Run Fox Run (white- "Emma"), next to her and a son, Fox Run's Flying Bolt (black -"Stymie") near the far left side.

Fox Run's Bradfield Comet FCh., L.C.M

Sire: Ch. Slades Dixieland Dandi Duke
Dam: Ch. Haley's Comet

BradWhelped: March 17, 1984

Field Championship: June 15, 1985

Lure Courser of Merit: April 27th, 1986

To the best of my knowledge, "Brad" was Best of Breed on the Coursing Field on 17 different occasions and was Best In Field  four times. In the show ring, he had 2 points in very limited showing, including once Best of Winners and on another occasion, Reserve Winners Dog. When entered in a Sanctioned Match sponsored by the Lexington Kennel Club, Brad won Best in Match. He was quite the athlete indeed!

PandaLyca Maid of Motion FCh.

Sire: Sundance Whatever
Dam: Lyca Ying Yang of Briarhill
Whelped: September 10, 1985
Breeder: Camille Lashley and Yvonne Meeks

"Panda" was such a nice girl.  She had a short show career, taking several reserves. On the coursing field she was awesome, easily obtaining her Field Championship.
