Cookies and Cream - USEF  5018434

2000 Black and White Overo Pony Mare

On June 22, 2016 Cookies and Cream returned to her first home, Fox Run Farm.  She is now retired.  Cookie was purchased in 2003 off the trailer of a horse trader.  Her intended destination was not a pleasant one.

Cookie was young, but already showed so much intelligence.  She was calm and happy to go home with me.  Both my daughter and my son worked with her at our farm.  She was such a quick learner and was under saddle in no time.  She was always so calm.  She was a pony that we really enjoyed and were so proud of.

From our farm Cookie journeyed to Florida to Kim, Ashlee and Aimee Rioux.  Many of my rescued ponies took this same journey.  This family always did such a good job working with the ponies.  There at their farm she foaled a beautiful palomino and white overo colt.  She had been pregnant when I purchased her.  This colt is now enjoying a jumping career of his own!

While there,  her jumping career also started.  Ashlee loved this little mare and discovered that she had a hidden talent.  They even schooled her at HITS. Cookie had experienced such changes in her life.  She took it all in stride.  Always she was a good girl!  There was something remarkable about this little, quiet pony mare.

Cookie traveled to several other families during the course of her life, but then met the Powell family.  Barclay took a chance on Cookie who was at that time just a pony out in a field.  Under her skilled guidance, Cookie went back to the show ring and did wonderfully, including Pony Final Wins!

From Barclay, Cookie went to the Peralta family.  It was at this time that I met back up with Cookie while she was being shown at Pony Finals for the third time!    Her little owner, Catalina, won so much with her.  It is just a fairy story how this little mare has met so many wonderful people and has done so much in her life.
Catalina showed this little mare to many important wins such as Pony Finals and Lake Placid, jumping and winning with her against horses!

Now Cookie is retired.  She will still be ridden and loved on, but her life will now consist of trail riding and perhaps a hunter pace or two.  And, who knows...maybe next year we will think about Cookie being a mom again too.
